Airlie Beach Festival of Music is back - and it’s turning 12! To celebrate, the festival has dropped a massive line-up, headlined by the legendary British glam rock band, Sweet, while they’re down under for their Farewell Tour.

They’ll be joined by more than 50 acts across the five day program, which kicks off next Thursday (November 7). Other big names set to play are Aussie rock ‘n’ roll-ers Rose Tattoo, ‘80s favourites Pseudo Echo, and 90’s rock band Southern Sons - back by popular demand.

Punters can also expect performances by Sandi Thom - known for her hit single, I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker - Jebediah, Thirsty Merc, Reece Mastin, Christine Anu,  and many more. You can find the full line-up below.

This will mark Anu’s first time at the festival, and she’s more than excited for it: “I’m so excited to finally experience Airlie Beach Festival of Music for the first time! I’ve heard incredible things about the energy and the crowd and performing with the ocean as my backdrop is going to be something special,” she said.

Airlie Beach Festival of Music is set to run from Thursday, November 7 to Monday, November 11. As well as five days of non-stop concerts, the festival will also feature the Passport to Airlie national live original music showcase finals on the Friday, where nine up-and-coming acts from across Australia will compete. The winner will secure a golden ticket to rock the main stage next year - a huge opportunity for emerging artists.

Queensland has come through, providing the majority of the finalists: Tom Neilson, Hilz, Noah Davis, Slippery Gypsy, and Space & Ages. All of these acts, plus a few more, will play in the main tent from 4pm.

Founder Gavin ‘Butto’ Butlin says it’s Airlie Beach Festival of Music’s individuality that’s to blame for its longevity: “There’s a reason we’re still here after 12 years - we’ve created something unique and people come back year after year for the music, but also for the experience. It’s where the everyday fades and you’re left with nothing but good vibes, great company and a view that’s hard to beat.”

Tickets for Airlie Beach Festival of Music are on sale now.
