As announced last month, James Reyne of Australian Crawl will be returning to the stage for his Crawl File 40th anniversary tour, with an additional 12 dates added to the tour.
The show kicks off in Victoria in January of 2024 and will continue through to July as Reyne makes his way through New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia and Queensland.
To coincide with the tour, Universal Music is reissuing Crawl File on vinyl, with the greatest hits album available to order here.
The record is packed with the pub anthems that solidified Reyne and Australian Crawl’s status on Australian music, with Crawl File named the biggest best-of 1984 sitting at #2 on the charts and being recognised as Most Popular Group at the Countdown Rock Award and added to the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1996.
The Crawl File greatest hits album plays like a classic gig, opening with the band’s debut single, Beautiful People, and closing with their most popular live song, The Boys Light Up. Between these ballads are some of the most-loved Australian songs of all time, including Reckless, Errol, Oh No Not You Again, Lakeside, Downhearted and Things Don’t Seem.
Gig-goers will be treated to an 8-piece band accompanying Reyne onstage, including guitarists Brett Kingman and Josh Owen, bassist Andy McIvor, with Sean Johnson on keys, drummer John Watson (who was part of Australian Crawl with James) and backing singers Melinda Jackson and Nicky Kurta.

Australian Crawl and Reyne made news earlier in the month following the release of Bill McDonough’s new book, Sons Of Beaches.
The book follows the lives of brothers and bandmates, Bill and Guy McDonough, and how their quick rise to fame came at a high cost. The book also poses an interesting question about the decisions made to sack Bill and whether it hamstrung the future success of the band.
Reyne was a member of Australian Crawl for seven years, with the band releasing four albums throughout the ‘80s. Reyne has also enjoyed solo success, releasing an impressive 12 records and four live albums.
