"Thank you from the bottom of my heart... "
US rapper A$AP Rocky is free to leave Sweden after being temporarily released from custody while he awaits the verdict on his assault trial.
AS CNN reports, the 30-year-old hip hop artist, real name Rakim Mayers, and his co-defendants David Rispers and Bladimir Corniel are on their way back to the US before the verdict is expected to be delivered on 14 August.
Videos posted online last month showed Mayers throwing a man to the ground in a street in Stockholm, however he has maintained his innocence, alleging on Instagram that the two men he was involved in the altercation with were following him and his entourage.
Testifying in court this week, Mayers, who has spent the last month in a Swedish jail, said he tried to "defuse" the altercation with the men.
"I have spent a month in Sweden. This is my fifth or sixth time here," Mayers said.
"I have seen the most beautiful architecture and the not-so-nice things... what I want is justice. I want my name to be cleared. Justice for all of us."

Taking to Instagram earlier today, Mayers thanked his supporters.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my fans, friends and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks," the post reads.
"I can't begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you. This has been a very difficult and humbling experience."

While Mayers is not required to return to Sweden for the hearing, prosecutors have asked the rapper be served a six-month prison sentence.
