"I’ve had a longterm fascination with recursive forms and patterns that are emerging in nature."
Gold Coast-based electronic dance outfit Tijuana Cartel have unveiled a mesmerising new clip for their latest single, Minimal Stuffing.
Directed and animated by Carey O’Sullivan of Hot Damn Productions, the music video features "a mind-bending synaesthesia of digitally warped music and nature".
“Much of the animated stuff comes out of my backyard garden," O’Sullivan said.
"I’ve had a longterm fascination with recursive forms and patterns that are emerging in nature. We started with a goal to digitally recreate these natural structures for synced visualisations for the live show.
"However, it became apparent there weren’t any available tools to do the job. So, in true nerd DIY fashion, I decided the only way was to create some. When we finished this track, we knew it was a perfect match for the fruits of the digital nature machine.”
Minimal Stuffing is taken from the band's forthcoming new album Acid Pony, set for release on November 13.
