The Australian two-some top off another brilliant year with a quirky and upbeat final track..

More Vallis Alps More Vallis Alps

Over the past twelve months, Sydney electronic duo Vallis Alps have kept busy. They released their long-awaited new EP Fable in March (which they've since followed up with a handful of one-off singles) and hit some of the world's biggest stages both here and abroad (Falls Festival, Lightning In A Bottle, Splendour, Listen Out – the list goes on), cementing themselves as a valuable Australian electronic export as well as one of our own favourite home-grown artists. So Settled is their last hurrah for 2017 and it sees them break out of their comfort zone a little, something which the pairing say are a result of pushing their boundaries. "So Settled is a result of pushing our musical boundaries and shows an attitude shift in our writing process," they say in a quote accompanying the release. "With So Settled, as with our recent song Oceans, we tried to let go of those expectations and allow the song to go where it wanted."

The result is a noticeably more perky and upbeat single, combining the delicate, yet assertive vocals of Parissa Tosif with a light production heavy on the more acoustic side of things, evident through their uncharacteristic use of acoustic guitar and the bright synth melodies which are restricted from all distortion and warping. As they continue to grow, Vallis Alps continue to push boundaries and benchmarks, whether it's personal boundaries or on a larger scale, and So Settled just continues this trend, leaving us really excited to see where the pairing may take us in 2018.
