The Most Notable Lines In The Drake Vs Kendrick Diss Track Saga

In case you missed it, we’re in the middle of one of the biggest rap battles of the century. Drake and Kendrick Lamar (and J Cole, before he dipped) have been releasing non-stop diss tracks about each other for the past few days.

It’s a whole thing, but essentially, Drake got pissy that Kendrick said he wasn’t in a “Big Three” (referring to Drake, J Cole, and Kendrick), instead saying, “It’s just big me”. Since then, track after track has been dropped, with attacks on each other’s character, style, family, and some more serious allegations. So, here are the most notable (funny and serious) lines from each song, in chronological order.

Push-Ups - Drake, April 19

“How the fuck you big steppin' with a size-seven men's on?”

The majority of Push Ups’ disses revolve around Kedrick’s size.. Small. He’s only 5’5, compared to Drake’s 6ft. Other lines about Lamar’s height include:

“Your little midget ass better fuckin' drop and give me fifty.”

“Just to have this talk with your ass, I had to hike down.”

“Pipsqueak, pipe down. You ain't in no big three, SZA got you wiped down.”

Taylor Made Freestyle - Drake, April 19

Drake followed up his first drop with Taylor Made Freestyle, including AI-generated verses of Tupac and Snoop Dogg, though he did take this one off Spotify pretty soon after it was uploaded - thanks to a cease and desist from Tupac’s estate. Funny lines from this one include:

“They told me the spirit of Makaveli is alive in a n**** under 5'5", so it's gotta be you.”

“World is watching this chess game, but are you out of moves?”

“The next one is really 'bout to bring out the coward in you / But now we gotta wait a fuckin' week 'cause Taylor Swift is your new Top / And if you 'bout to drop, she gotta approve.” 

That last one is in relation to rumours that Kendrick moved a release date because Taylor Swift was also releasing something on that date. Honestly, smart move, Kendrick.

euphoria - Kendrick Lamar, April 30

Kendrick came out in force for this one.

“You're movin' just like a degenerate; every antic is feelin' distasteful.”

“You'rе not a rap artist, you a scam artist with the hopes of being accеpted.”

“I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress.”

“How many more Black features 'til you finally feel that you're Black enough?”

“I'm knowin' they call you The Boy, but where is a man? 'Cause I ain't seen him yet.”

“Why would I call around tryna get dirt on n****s? Y'all think all my life is rap? That's ho shit, I got a son to raise, but I can see you don't know nothin' 'bout that.”

6:16 in LA - Kendrick Lamar, May 3

Dropping his next track a few days later, Lamar kept going hard:

“Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person. Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it.”

“Your lil' memes is losin' steam, they figured you out”

“If you were street-smart, then you woulda caught that your entourage is only to hustle you. A hundred n****s that you got on salary / And twenty of 'em want you as a casualty.”

Family Matters - Drake, May 3

Look, maybe Kendrick shouldn’t have gone so hard on Drake in those last two tracks. But Drake went a step too far when he dropped Family Matters that same day. He makes some serious claims of domestic violence on this track, including:

“When you put your hands on your girl, is it self-defense 'cause she bigger than you?”

“They hired a crisis management team to clean up the fact that you beat on your queen.”

“You a dog and you know it, you just play sweet / Your baby mama captions always screamin', ‘Save me’.”

He also made allegations of colourism after Kendrick inferred that Drake wasn’t “Black enough”.

“Our sons should go play at the park, two lightskin kids, that shit would be cute / Unless you don't want to be seen with anyone that isn't Blacker than you.”

The seven-minute song had other highlights too:

“Ozempic got a side effect of jealousy and doctor never told y'all n****s” 

That’s an interesting one, considering Kendrick also called Drake out for using Ozempic in a range of his tracks during this feud.

“I'm losin' perspective on beef, Boi-1da send beat and I'll kill you for fun.”

“I ain't even know you rapped still 'cause they only talkin' 'bout your 'fit again / Probably gotta have a kid again 'fore you think of droppin' any shit again.”

“Always rappin' like you 'bout to get the slaves freed / You just actin' like an activist, it's make-believe.”

“You right about ‘Fuck the big three,’ it's only Big D, and there's video proof.” 

A sneaky reference to Drake’s leaked nude video, I’m sure.

meet the grahams - Kendrick Lamar, May 3

Mere hours later, Lamar hit back. Hard. meet the grahams, referencing Drake’s last name, is basically an open apology to each member of Drake's family - for having to put up with him.

“Dear Adonis / I'm sorry that that man is your father, let me be honest / It takes a man to be a man, your dad is not responsive / I look at him and wish your grandpa woulda wore a condom.”

Starting off strong, Kendrick addresses Drake’s son, Adonis, by name, while utterly roasting his father. The next verse is aimed at Drake’s parents - and has some even more serious claims. 

“You raised a horrible fuckin' person, the nerve of you, Dennis / Sandra, sit down, what I'm about to say is heavy, now listen / Mm-mm, your son's a sick man with sick thoughts, I think n****s like him should die / Him and Weinstein should get fucked up in a cell for the rest they life / He hates Black women, hypersexualizes 'em with kinks of a nympho fetish.”

“He got sex offenders on ho-VO that he keep on a monthly allowance / A child should never be compromised and he keepin' his child around them / And we gotta raise our daughters knowin' there's predators like him lurkin' / Fuck a rap battle, he should die so all of these women can live with a purpose.”

Lamar’s third verse talks to an anonymous “baby girl.” Kendrick seems to say that Drake is hiding a secret daughter somewhere - to which Drake replied via Instagram, “Nahhhh hold on can someone find my hidden daughter pls and send her to me.”

His closing verse is addressed to Drake himself, or, rather, “Aubrey” - Drake’s birth name. 

“Thirty-seven, but you showin' up as a seven-year-old / You got gamblin' problems, drinkin' problems, pill-poppin' and spendin' problems / Bad with money, whorehouse / Solicitin' women problems, therapy's a lovely start.”

He closes the track out with a brutal line:

“Fuck a rap battle, this a long life battle with yourself.”

Not Like Us - Kendrick Lamar, May 4

Kendrick wasn’t finished. Not even 24 hours later, he dropped another track - and this one goes in for the kill. Not Like Us is Lamar’s most forward diss on Drake, and includes straight-out allegations of pedophilia. Though thinly veiled in the last few tracks, Lamar hadn’t said it explicitly about Drake himself… until now.

“Say, Drake, I hear you like 'em young / You better not ever go to cell block one / To any bitch that talk to him and they in love / Just make sure you hide your lil' sister from him.”

“Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles.”

“Why you trollin' like a bitch? Ain't you tired? Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A minor.”

“And your homeboy need subpoena, that predator move in flocks / That name gotta be registered and placed on neighborhood watch.”

THE HEART PART 6 - Drake, May 5

Drake closed out the feud with one last track, THE HEART PART 6 - a reference to Lamar’s The Heart songs he has on each album. He addresses every claim of Lamar’s in detail, including saying that Drake’s team actually fed Lamar the information about his “baby girl.”

“We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information / A daughter that's eleven years old, I bet he takes it / We thought about giving a fake name or a destination / But you so thirsty, you not concerned with investigation / Instead you in Advantage Studio, it's a celebration / You gotta learn to fact check things and be less impatient.”

Drake also denied the pedophilia allegations, blaming Kendrick’s claims on a troubled childhood.

“This Epstein angle was the shit I expected / TikTok videos you collected and dissected / Instead of being on some diss-direct shit / You rather fucking grab your pen and misdirect shit.”

“This is trauma from your own confessions / This when your father leave you home alone with no protection, so neglected / That's why these pedophile raps and shit you so obsessed with, it's so excessive.”

“I never been with no one underage, but now I understand why this the angle that you really mess with / Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I'm too respected / If I was fucking young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested / I'm way too famous for this shit you just suggested.”

“Only fuckin' with Whitneys, not Millie Bobby Browns, I'd never look twice at no teenager.”

Finishing the track with a spoken outro, Drake called the feud a “good exercise.”

“It's good to get out, get the pen workin' / You would be a worthy competitor if I was really a predator and you weren't fuckin' lying to every blogger and editor, but / It is what it is.”

Since then, no more surprise tracks have been dropped - at least on the date of publication. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
