The Hottest of Chips

Few bands have managed to influence, encapsulate and endure through decades and genres just like British five-piece Hot Chip. Since forming at the turn of the millennium in London, the band have remained at the forefront of a style and sound they helped formulate into the modern melting pot of indie rock, synth pop and straight up underground dance music that we’ve come to know and love today.

Showing no signs of slowing down, the group’s new album Freakout/Release is out August 19, so we thought it only seemed right to look back at the group’s vast, influential and altogether too catchy back catalogue to separate the Hot from the Chips… what we’re calling the “hit” and the “deep cut” from each of their albums - warm potato snack accompaniment recommended for the below listening!

While it remains to be seen what the enduring hits and deep cuts from the new album will be, it's a pretty safe bet to assume that upper tempo genre-smashing single Eleanor will be up there!
