How did you get your start? We (Mia Dyson, Liz Stringer, Jen Cloher) jumped in the deep end with a 40-date tour of Australia in 2013. It was fucking epic in the best way. Right into the desert too, through Tennant Creek and up to Alice.
Sum up your musical sound in four words? We’ve been described as, “A thundering three-part musical assault – one you wished would never end.” Not four words, I know, but I reckon it sums us up well.
If you could support any band in the world – past or present – who would it be? I’m not sure if the three of us would agree on the same band, but I reckon Talking Heads would be right up there alongside The Velvet Underground.
You’re being sent into space, no iPod, you can bring one album – what would it be? 2001: A Space Odyssey (soundtrack).

Greatest rock’n’roll moment of your career to date? We played a set just before Steve Earle at Bluesfest this year then
watched Dr John and his band side of stage. Sweet.
Why should people come and see your band? There’s a great chemistry between us. We’ve been playing in our own bands and releasing records for ten years now, but Dyson Stringer Cloher is different. If you love three-part harmonies, great songwriting and guitar playing then you’ll dig what we’re about.
When and where for your next gig? 12 Dec, Meeniyan Town Hall and 13 Dec, Howler. Plus both myself and Mia are playing our own band sets at Meredith Music festival that weekend. Logistics are gonna be interesting.
