Melvins (sometimes the Melvins) are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. Their early work was key to the development of both grunge and sludge metal. Primarily a trio, they have also performed as a quartet, with either two drummers or two bassists. Since 1984, vocalist and guitarist Buzz Osborne and drummer Dale Crover have been constant members.

The massive theatre tour – marking Mr. Bungle’s first trip Down Under in 24 years – will head to six cities across March 2024.
We’re hoping for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery for Dale Crover.
"It says something for Buzz Osborne and co's collective strength of character that they're still having this much fun on their umpteenth studio album."
"Those bands straightened up the sludge, and constantly shifting time signatures and arrangements, leaving Melvins as true progenitors of their sound."
"The blind intensity of some of the collisions raised expectations that blood would flow at any moment."
"...A straightforward vanity project delivered with avant-garde disdain... typical Melvins really."
"I don't play games like that with people, but apparently he thinks that's fine."
"Melvins reconvene for Basses Loaded, an album that features six, yes six, bass players."
A great band, but complete idiots. What’s not to love?
