"There's no doubt we'll find glitter in all sorts of places for weeks to come."
To begin, Nicole Millar hypnotises us with her free-flowing dancing and ethereal vocals. As she floats around the stage, her vibrant and charismatic style instantly win us over. Tyde Levi then quickly swaps in for a fast-paced, 20-minute DJ set before his brother (Troye Sivan) arrives. The DJ gets us hyped-up with those energetic dance moves, causing the crowd to jump as high as they can to some of the hottest dance tracks dominating the charts right now.
A smoky rainbow of colour engulfs the stage as Troye Sivan appears in an oversized pink T-shirt and glitter-covered face. "Holy Shit!" he shouts, looking out and taking in the audience at his first arena show. Sivan opens with Bite and his devoted fans sing along with every single word, drowning him out. Sivan has a fantastic live stage presence, building a strong connection with the crowd; he's energetic, covering a lot of ground onstage and performing to all angles inside the arena. He tells us he's amazed this is actually happening to him and wishes that a much younger version of him could see where he is right now. Rainbow pride flags fly high during the emotional and honest Heaven. Sivan tells us that he doesn't care if he doesn't go to heaven as long as he's happy, accepted and here to party with us tonight. His family, friends and fans cheer him on.
It's as if most of the audience rolled around in glitter before the show tonight and there's no doubt we'll find glitter in all sorts of places for weeks to come. Sivan gives us a break from glitter sweating into our eyes by slowing things down with an excellent cover of Dua Lipa's Be The One. He continues to nerd-out with excitement, borrowing a smartphone from a front-row fan to pose for a group selfie from the stage.
Sivan lets us in on a secret that he's considering making the move to Melbourne and all present tonight scream their support. We then help him out during an acoustic version of Happy Little Pill, shouting at the top of our lungs for a big finish.
