Trixie & Monkey: Flipping & Stripping

All the way from New York City, this duo delivers exactly what their show title denotes – a delightfully debauched hour of much flipping and even more stripping. Trixie & Monkey is a tale of forbidden love between owner and monkey, monkey and banana, and banana and audience members – if you're lucky. From start to end the show had the packed-out audience's attention, starting with a burlesque dance during which Trixie's banana dress is slowly peeled, piece by piece from her body. Comic and raunchy, you will see things done with a feather boa that you definitely wouldn't have picked up from any of the seedier establishments around town. And if you've ever wanted to see a man as a monkey, in a tutu, combining ballet with boylesque, this is the show for you. Perhaps an aerial and acrobatic rendition of the Kama Sutra is more up your ally? Whatever it is, you'll likely be a little shocked, a little surprised, but definitely entertained by this duo's performance. The act was seamless and very silly, but exactly what you expect from a late night Fringe show – shock and amusement coupled with world class talent. The two made an excellent on-stage team, and the show's ending was met by a standing ovation.
