Album Review: Trentemøller - Lost Reworks

Multiple reworks of only a handful of tracks make for a repetitive listen.

The overriding criticism of Trentemøller’s last album Lost was that it was too stylistically random to gel as a whole.

Despite its piecemeal development, Lost Reworks hangs together much better than its source material. Much of the rewiring is done by the man himself and his injection of evil undulations into River Of Life is a genuine highlight, as is Toydrum’s radical reimagining of Come Undone, whose vampire stomp recalls the spirit of Goldfrapp’s Strict Machine. Alas, multiple reworks of only a handful of tracks make for a repetitive listen.
