Album Review: Tigertown - Warriors

In such a relatively short space of time, Sydney alternative pop four-piece Tigertown have garnered one hell of a following.

Having only released their debut a few years back, the brother and sister troupe (so to speak, one half is a married couple, the other half are siblings of the former) are now commanding global stages as part of international touring spots for big names like St Lucia and Panic! At The Disco, as well as pulling a hefty number of punters to their local shows. It's no bad effort at all, considering the sporadic release of material in EP form.

Warriors is another too-small snippet, but what it lacks in track numbers it more than makes up for with massive stadium anthems and the odd pared back song. The title track hits blissful highs as singer Charlie Collins glides her way from coy verse to celebratory chorus, underlined by crisp beats and backing vocals. Come My Way takes a more subdued, offbeat approach but the joy is still there in the all-together main motif. If only there were a few more hooky strummers like Mysterious featuring LPX, aka MS MR's Lizzy Plapinger, as it's nice to have a few new tracks, but the small amount isn't enough.
