"Proof positive they really know what they're about."
It basically boils down to The Lulu Raes being nothing more or less than a damn neat pop band, knowing enough history to absorb elements of what's gone before to make something of their own.
Their affection for a certain '90s template comes through on Infinite Paradise (Sail Away) — harmonies and hooks, and just the right crack in the vocal. Although My Mid 20s is probably more British Invasion than Britpop. Change My Tune adds a little muscle to the style. But hop on Never Leave for something wistful and smart with a bit of a twang, and proof positive they really know what they're about.
