Melbourne rock dudes The Cherry Dolls know their way around some nifty riffs.
Their debut Viva Los Dolls is absolutely riddled with driving guitar lines, attitude and plenty of pants-first swagger. Opener Cop Out dishes up some '70s sass amid a simple but upbeat kit-work, seemingly setting the bar for the rest of the album. There are definitely some highlights that follow in similar vein - Slave, Hollywood, Love - and there are tracks that change things up a bit pace-wise - Kimchi, Let You Down, Begging You Please - enough to lacquer over the repetitiveness of the in-betweeners.
