Album Review: The Casanovas - Terra Casanova

“It ain’t easy, bein’ a Casanova.” These Melburnians have been dutifully plugging away at their no–frills rawk, and almost a decade after their previous full–length turned to crowd–funding to facilitate this LP’s release.

AC/DC–isms remain apparent, particularly in the riffage department, although far less overt, offset by sharpened pop sensibilities seemingly spawned from spinning early KISS records. Although little of the lyrical venom apparent in recent cut The Most Hated Man In Melbourne appears, the thunderous bass of swaggering He’s Alive and Hotel Sunrise’s infectiousness are winners amid a solid return.
