"The Architects Of Sound had everyone in absolute stitches, and rightly so."
Posing as side-splitting songbirds of Generation XYZ, this Brisbane-based trio poke fun at the pretentiousness of this hipster-heavy era. While simultaneously delivering a decent dance beat, electro crew The Architects Of Sound had everyone in absolute stitches, and rightly so.
Coordinated outfits paired with GarageBand tracks like Titties In Paradise and Shitty Balls perpetuated the irony even further. Spaced-out, nonsensical visuals complemented choreographed dances, creating the belief that AOS may have actually started as a legit electro group - jokes aside.
Their self-proclaimed anti-careerist, anti-music industry attitude made an appearance through purposefully pompous, grandiose comments. If that wasn't eye-watering enough, a windswept solo from sound mixer Sutro easily won over the crowd. They followed this with an audience Q&A segment lousy with laughter; the fourth wall was not only removed but happily walked off stage.
Random acknowledgments of fairly forgotten celebrities completed the satirical electro performance perfectly. This alt-electro act deserves standing ovations from audiences with smile-driven face cramps.
