Album Review: Taylor Henderson - Burnt Letters

Being a finalist in two over-glorified and mass-produced talent shows mightn’t mean much to most, but Australia’s Got Talent and X-Factor finalist Taylor Henderson can freaking sing (and play the guitar in a not horrible fashion).

Two albums into his career, Burnt Letters sees the Victorian singer-songwriter trying on musical influences the way most people try on outfits – with casual indifference and no real understanding of why they’re working. The album is actually strangely addictive, the aural equivalent of watching a baby try to walk, with 12 thoroughly enjoyable tracks of smooth rhythms and triumphant chorus hooks.
