One heckler continually interrupted to the point where he was kicked out and he left to the sound of a cheering crowd.
Walking up Port Road to The Gov and the first thing you see is a line that stretches out and up the street.
Putting their morals aside as the audience prepared themselves for anything, knowing that Steve-O is not one to hold back. Known mainly from his appearance on Jackass and Wildboyz where he pushes his body to the limits with stupid and disgusting stunts.
[They] cheered for him like he was some sort of parenting hero.
Once the masses had squeezed in, found a seat and a beer, Julien Clark jumped up on stage to get everything started. If you had never seen Clark preform live, you would think in the first few lines of his act that he was a random drunk who has decided to get up and start talking. But no, he is up there for a reason, to make everyone laugh. Clark does a marvellous job, using the frustration with his children and ex-wife as material for his show. All the parents who had left their children at home to just get away from them for a night could easily understand where he was coming from and cheered for him like he was some sort of parenting hero.
It was a round of Truth Or Dare where only Steve-O was playing.
Dancing onto stage in typical Steve-O fashion, slowly making his way to the microphone, the first words that come out of his mouth are "Yeah, dude". He's on an empty stage with no tables to break or objects to stick in places that shouldn’t be able to hold anything. You can almost begin to relax, thinking that he will not be able to make you feel uncomfortable... then he starts to talk about the past ten years of sexual conquests and you're straight back to uncomfortable. Feeling like it was a round of Truth Or Dare where only Steve-O was playing and then only choosing 'truth' — every story and every sexual joke got funnier.
Like with a lot of comedy events, people from the audience tend to think they are funnier and that they can add their two bits. There was one such heckler who continually interrupted to the point where he was kicked out and he left to the sound of a cheering crowd. After this Steve-O went back to his crazy stories and ended the night with a couple of pub tricks, like starting off with a cup of water on his head and with out using his hands drank the water. There was also a moment where audience participation was needed — basically, Steve-O thinking of creative ways to kick willing members in the groin. After it was all finished he turned The Gov into his own after-party and planned on taking a selfie with anyone that wanted one.
Leaving the venue you feel the same as if you had just watched one of the Jackass movies - totally entertained but a little dirty. It's straight home to have a shower.
