Album Review: Songhoy Blues - Resistance

As good as their debut Music In Exile was, Resistance is arguably better in every single way.

The grooves are infectious, venomous even; the songwriting that little bit sharper; the performances insistent and compelling. It even has Iggy Pop, doing his oft imitated but never bettered Iggy-isms, and, of all things, Elf Kid of grime crew The Square. The likes of Bamako and Dabari will inspire outrageous dance mania wherever they're heard. This writer personally challenges anyone to play this album and not move around like a wild thing.
