"Shania Twain, that DOES impress us much!"
Leopard print, cowboy boots and '90s nostalgia: the three main ingredients of a Shania Twain show. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre turns into a country-pop haven to kick off the first of our city’s two show spectacular. Man! I feel like someone who is seeing one of the best shows of 2018.
Bastian Baker kicks off tonight’s show, bringing boyish charm and a sensational country essence onto the stage. He is an unfamiliar talent with a lot to give. Without knowing much about the singer-songwriter prior to his performance, we are certainly intrigued. The charm of Keith Urban with the energy and modern twist of Florida Georgia Line could mean a rise in stardom for Bastian Baker.
And now, Shania Twain. Arriving in a floor-length sequin gown, like only a true goddess would, she makes her grand entrance from the back of the room like a true star.
In an entirely appropriate opening number, Twain proves that Life’s About To Get Good. It gets even better though with hit after hit performed in style and with elegance.
The crowd goes wild for That Don’t Impress Me Much. It’s a standing ovation through the entire performance.
An intimate performance of Still The One, off stage and in the centre of the room, sees phone lights on and perhaps a few glistening tears. This quickly stands out as an emotional highlight.

Perhaps one of the most notable triumphs of the night is the staging and production value. Each track comes with its own display of theatrics. Giant leopard print cubes, nostalgic montages, and beautiful AV designs fill the show. Throw in a few spectacular backing dancers and you’ve got yourself an incredibly thoughtful show.
What else could we finish on, other than the smash hit Man! I Feel Like A Woman!. It is quite possible that not one single person is in their chair for this closing number. Our blood is pumping, our hearts content and Shania Twain, that DOES impress us much!
