Album Review: Sandy (Alex G) - Rocket

Kicking off in a flurry of sharp strings, banjo and low vocals, Poison Root is a gripping way to begin.

Rocket showcases upbeat folk one minute, followed by mellow keys and dream pop vibes the next; especially in County. Witch provides a stark comparison to Horse, which is bursting at the seams in an intense jumble of keys and dark synths. Track listing on this album plays a massive role on its emotional effect when listening to it in its entirety. It's a tumultuous and exciting sonic experience, as each song plays with varying melodies and tempos that seemingly intentionally contrast to the track before it.
