"It's best to ignore the repetitive nature of the songs and just lose yourself to the music with the rest of the gyrating (and attractive) crowd."
Who says you can't dance during the week? This was certainly not an evening to sit back and watch, starting with Yuma X who delivered precise chilled dance grooves to warm up the dormant day-job muscles. This boy-girl duo don't reveal a lot about themselves, but simply let the music, from Jake, and the delicate vocal of Lucy roll over the humming Enmore.
As far as DJ sets go, if you see Cassian on the line-up, you can guarantee bangers. This Sydney DJ has been on the scene for many years, but tonight was his Enmore debut and the crowd responded enthusiastically. The fast-paced bouncy set was a perfect set-up for the main act with mixes from Hayden James, Flight Facilities and The Weeknd as well as his beat-heavy housie originals.
By this stage, the theatre was full to bursting as RÜFÜS made their way to the stage to ear-piercing screams. The 'boy-band' of the Australian dance scene has been kicking goals since their massive 2013 debut, Atlas, and revealed they have been spending the last few months finishing up their follow-up album.
Whilst the crowd were mostly just pumped to listen to their old stuff, like opener Sundream and other bangers like Modest Life and Take Me, the dropping of new tracks, Innerbloom and their latest Like An Animal showed that these guys aren't one album wonders. There is a definite difference in delivery of the old and new songs from front man, Tyrone Lindqvist, swinging from loose and interactive to concentrating and focussed, but it shows that they're working hard on their new tracks.

It's best to ignore the repetitive nature of the songs and just lose yourself to the music with the rest of the gyrating (and attractive) crowd. This mid-week dose of dancing feels like it should be a mandatory method to breaking up a work week, but the sold-out Friday show will surely be next level.
