Album Review: Owen Campbell - In The Shadow Of The Greats

One of Australia’s consummate roots and blues guitarists, Campbell delivers a neat little package in this six-track EP.

It’s mainly covers but that doesn’t diminish the class he brings to Tom Waits’ Ol’ 55 and Sir Van Morrison’s Days Like This. Campbell rocks out with some neat finger-picking on The Beatles’ Money and his own Remember To Breathe, a track featured in a sometimes controversial appearance on Australia’s Got Talent three years ago. Fortunately for him he has the songs and talent to put that behind him and forge his own path.
