"Nicole Millar is a breath of fresh air and if she is any indication of where the Australian pop scene is going then things are looking positive."
The Foundry has been a home to many a talent over the years, showcasing some of the finest from Brisbane and beyond. This evening, it welcomes up-and-coming pop star, Nicole Millar. Supporting Millar on her Excuse Me tour are Oh Boy, bringing flair to the stage, and Sophiegrophy, who without too large of a crowd worked well to ensure a fun, intimate and personal vibe.
Nicole Millar graces the stage to open with On Rewind and by the time she gets to her second track the dancefloor is filling up. Signals brings more people to the front and Millar's stage presence is nothing if not bubbly, displaying an inviting and kind demeanour as she dances, laughs and smiles her way through songs from her debut album. Only at the halfway point in her set do we hear No Bad Vibes, a certified banger that electrifies Millar's fans.
Any great performance needs a song dedicated to all the broken hearts out there, and Millar's addition tonight is No Tears For Free. Despite the dedication, there is no diminishment in mood for the electro-pop track. The show begins to wind up and with much anticipation from the room Millar brings out Tremble. She hypes up the audience for the song, asking for some energy from the crowd. The audience delivers, with a flurry of fans racing to the dancefloor to join in.
Nicole Millar finishes off her show with her hit Peking Duk collaboration. Needless to say, she does them proud, ending the night on a High note. Nicole Millar is a breath of fresh air and if she is any indication of where the Australian pop scene is going then things are looking positive.
