"The 'generic pop-punk' outfit from Wales have well and truly delivered; it is an absolute killer."
Neck Deep are back with third studio album The Peace And The Panic, and the "generic pop-punk" outfit from Wales have well and truly delivered; it is an absolute killer.
Frontman Ben Barlow's iconic vocals soar throughout as the album centres on the unnerving state of the world. Abrupt lyrics in songs Happy Judgement Day and Don't Wait ("And if you choose to read the news/Then you must question everything") crossed with classic pop-punk melodies and upbeat tones creates an angsty, pessimistic atmosphere you can still get rowdy too.
The contrast between happiness (the peace) and darkness (the panic) is a petrifying relevance to today's social climate, and its execution proves they are downright owning the pop-punk scene.
