"It's like a scene from 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory'."
A true Queenslander knows that a hot day and an ice-cold Gold go hand-in-hand. It's like a scene from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory as XXXX Brewery re-opens its gates for a day of live Australian music, beers and a tour of the motherland. It's a beautiful sight, with big XXXX drums, drunken gig-goers dripping in XXXX merchandise and live music.

With a few new releases under their belt, local lads Good Boy bring their A-game. Ya Mum’s Ya Dad and Fishing With A Shotgun precede more recent track Ethereal Whooshing, which, while changing up their sound, still hits hard. Finishing with CRF, Good Boy prove they are a band to watch.

Holy Holy fans flood to the stage, as the band's heavenly melodies and hard-hitting drums charm the audience. A cheeky cover of Lorde’s Green Light echoes throughout the brewery before True Lovers sees the set to its end. Lead singer Tim Carroll's voice sounds effortless.

As the night comes to an end, disco gods Confidence Man don't slow things down. The setlist is full of crowd-pleasers like Don’t You Know I’m In A Band, Out The Window and Bubblegum, with gig-goers singing every word and mimicking the iconic dance moves. Confidence Man know how to entertain their audience and they never disappoint. One champagne shower later and Boyfriend (Repeat) ends the festival on an absolute high.

The only downfall about the whole event would be the toilet-to-patron ratio, and the lack of bar staff. Other than that, Live At The Brewery is a unique Brisbane festival combining great Aussie music with a ‘yard party’ vibe. What more could you want?
