"Her debut album rides the thin line between exhaustion and exhilaration."
English singer-songwriter Jess Glynne has one of the biggest voices in pop music, so it's hardly surprising her debut album rides the thin line between exhaustion and exhilaration.
Despite the themes of hope and optimism about which she sings, it's difficult to sit through the entire thing when her voice is constantly turned up to 11. The dance tracks mostly fair well, with the majority of the production work being covered by fellow English artist Starsmith. While it's not shattering any boundaries, you could definitely do a lot worse when choosing a pop record this year.
