Album Review: Chairlift - Moth

American synth-pop duo Chairlift have made one of the most versatile pop records in recent musical history.

Moth sounds like what you would expect from a Kimbra record if the New Zealand singer ever felt like being less weird. Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly seem to have cracked the perfect songwriting formula, filling each moment of every song on their third album with a different colour. It's a polymorphic experience, as the hip hop swagger of Ch-Ching gives way to the Adele-worthy ballad Crying In Public, before the pair switch lanes once again with the kaleidoscopic Moth To The Flame. There are a few forgettable moments here and there, but they're well and truly outnumbered.
