Album Review: Asking Alexandria - The Black

This time last year, the prospect of a fourth Asking Alexandria record seemed, well, a bit iffy.

Singer Danny Worsnop had 'parted ways' with the band, and the Yorkshire five-piece had suddenly become a four-piece. Enter Ukranian vocalist Denis Stoff, whose range on The Black veers impressively from pop-punk choruses to guttural verses. Ever-present are throbbing rhythms and soaring guitar lines, sure to draw in more fans than ever before, and while occasional tracks like Send Me Home seem like they could have been pulled from a Yellowcard album, The Black should allay fan fears that AA would fade away.
