Album Review: All The Colours - All The Colours

All The Colours' debut album takes a while to warm to, a few listens necessary to appreciate their difference from run-of-the-mill contemporary rock. The heavy 1970's inspired instrumentals, although occasionally jarring, conjure a layered and modernised sound reminiscent of old-school Zeppelin, with Josh Moriarty's textural vocals providing a cool balance in standout tracks Shame and Second To None. However, as the album progresses the instrumentals prove overbearing and cluttered, making it difficult to remain fully-immersed. A good album but not captivating, leaving outside distraction all too easy to succumb to.
