Wollongong’s treasured Yours & Owls Festival is turning 10 this year, and they’re celebrating double digits through a hectic pre-party on October 12th at the University of Wollongong.
In July, festival organisers revealed on social media their coming of age, and with it announcing that usually scheduled programming of a promising Yours & Owls Festival would be moved to 2025, citing “headliner avails”. In the same post, they declared that they wouldn’t let the “Logistics Grinch steal Gong Christmas”, thus, Yours & Owls is vowing to celebrate their 10th Birthday with a super sweet pre-party.
The lineup is completely stacked with numerous local acts big and emerging, from the likes of electronic music group Peking Duk, who headlined the nationally recognised Bunnings Rave in August, deep house and dance music producer Golden Features to pop duo Cat & Calmell and Yuggera DJ and producer dameeeela. The set times for the festival have been released ahead of the event on October 12th, so grab your phone or a pen and paper and get ready to note down who to see, where to see them and at what time.
The main stage will kick off with vinyl DJs Sultans of Spins at 1 PM, followed by electronica duo Hellcat Speedracer at 1:40 PM, then Cat & Calmell at 2:40 PM. Headliner Golden Features will play the main stage at 8 PM before Peking Duk closes it out from 9:30 to 10:30 PM.
On the House of JBL Stage, expect to see Your Shot Winners Rubix and Shytype warm up the stage at 1 PM and 1:30 PM respectively. South Coast DJ duo Groove Society – who have just released their debut track Hands To Myself, sampling Selena Gomez’s 2015 track of the same name – will be bringing house, bass and everything in between from 3 to 4 PM. Beloved brother duo from Sydney Cosmos Midnight will play a special DJ set from 6:30 PM before Gold Coast dance DJ Little Fritter takes over at 8 PM. Finally, the House of JBL Stage will close out courtesy of Sydney supernova Willo.
