"...I am ready to sprinkle some pop-tactic glitter dust all over the show.”

After Aussie reality singing competition The X Factor experienced arguably its worst season this year, rival show The Voice is gearing up for its return in 2017 and it has today announced that Culture Club frontman Boy George has signed on as a judge for the upcoming series.

Having already previously judged on the UK version of the show, the 55-year-old singer will feature on the Channel Nine program alongside fellow judges, Delta Goodrem and Seal.

Speaking to the news.com.au, Boy George said of the news, "I am super excited to be doing The Voice in Australia, because I know they can take a bit of banter and I won’t be holding back.

"The UK season was a warm-up and I am ready to sprinkle some pop-tactic glitter dust all over the show."

While a fourth judge is yet to be confirmed, it has been speculated that US pop star Miley Cyrus (who is currently a judge on the US version) is a chance, following rumours that she is moving to Australia with partner and local actor, Liam Hemsworth.

The news comes just a week after The X Factor judge Guy Sebastian criticised the show he worked on for producing "manufactured television".
