Melbourne metalcore favourites Windwaker are going back on tour this July, with special guests Caskets coming all the way from Leeds, England, to make their Australian debut and the ascending alt.
The Love In The Dark run begins in Perth on Thursday, 20 July, before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Newcastle and coming to a close in Sydney on Saturday, 29 July.
The tour will see Windwaker headline Sydney, Adelaide and Newcastle for the first time in close to four years and will mark their first-ever headline show in Perth. Love In The Dark celebrates the release of the band's acclaimed debut album, Love Language, as well as the latest single, Left In The Dark, featuring returned member and new vocalist Liam Guinane as well as new synth and sample genius Connor Robins.
"We’re very excited to be bringing out Caskets for their Australian live debut and hitting the road again with our friends in alt.," Windwaker commented in a press release.
They added, “We’ll be playing songs from Love Language that we haven't performed yet (yes, that means Trenches), some old favourites (Empire never dies) and maybe even a cheeky newbie... We’re giving fans an opportunity to experience our songs in their phattest forms yet with our largest live production to date. This will be Windwaker at our absolute best."
Tickets to the Love In The Dark tour go on sale this Thursday, 27 April, at 10 am local time via Destroy All Lines. Find all tour dates below.
As well as their debut album, Windwaker have released the EPs, Fade in 2017, and Empire in 2019, building up an audience and cracking over 1 million streams on Spotify. They are currently signed to Fearless Records alongside Grayscale, Eat Your Heart Out, The Plot In You and many more ripping acts.
Meanwhile, South Australia’s alt. are releasing their debut album, Abeyance, on Friday, 16 June, via Resist/Sharptone Records.
“We didn't really know what Abeyance was going to sound like initially,” vocalist Dan Richards revealed in a press release.
“The first two songs that we had for Abeyance were polar opposites from each other, they were Wraith and Better Off Leaving, the former being pretty much the first proper track and the latter being the last song on the album.
"We started off trying to fill in the gaps between those at first, but a few songs after that we really found what we wanted the sound to be - and it all really started with A.D.D., that was the first song we wrote that we were like: ‘Yep, this is the sound of Abeyance!’” Pre-order the album here.
