"It was the first time I felt like revisiting the sonic zone where I first started with a new perspective."
Naarm-based producer Willaris. K will be embarking on the biggest headline tour of his career next month, with the producer travelling across the country with new music.
The announcement comes alongside his latest, thumping and mind-bending new single Melt. Melt closely follows the release of Slow Down, a spacey two step number alongside long time friend and collaborator Tom Snowden.
Melt was co-written and produced with Seekae's George Nicholas and mixed by Ewan Pearson. It sees Willaris. K return to his original sound, one that is inspired by late night adventures and wrapped in a glaze of ethereal yet hard hitting production.
“I started Melt at the start of 2020 in Sydney with my friend George Nicholas (from Seekae). It was the first one I made out of all these new songs, and it was the first time I felt like revisiting the sonic zone where I first started with a new perspective.
"It came together quickly and felt cathartic to be making heavy shit again. Like I was revisiting a place I’d been avoiding for a while. After my Alchemy EP I wanted to make anything but that, and it took a few side quests making different music to come back and do it with the right intentions.”
His Australian tour kicks off on the 2nd of September at Altar in Hobart, before heading to Freo Social in Perth on the 9th, The Triffid in Brisbane on the 16th, The Roundhouse in Sydney on the 30th before closing at The Forum in Melbourne on the 7th of October.
