Alt-rockers Weezer have announced two special arena shows in Melbourne and Brisbane to accompany their opening slot for KISS, playing their final show in the southern hemisphere in Sydney this October.
Weezer’s upcoming arena gigs are wedged between the KISS concert, hitting Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Friday, 6 October, supporting KISS on Saturday, 7 October, at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, and performing at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Sunday, 8 October.
Making the Buddy Holly group’s gigs even sweeter, Aussie rockers Regurgitator are joining them as special guests. Yep, you can sing Island In The Sun and Black Bugs on the same night. Don’t know many Regurgitator songs? Here are ten you need to know.
A dream tour for 90s alt-rock enthusiasts, the Early Bird pre-sale begins on Tuesday, 15 August, at 9 am AEST – you can sign up for early access to the pre-sale here. The general sale starts on Thursday, 17 August, at 9 am AEST via Destroy All Lines.
If you want to see Weezer and KISS, you can buy tickets to that show here.
Last year, Weezer unveiled the SZNZ series, sharing a collection of four EPs spanning the course of the year. Each EP offered its own palette of colours, creatures, and emotions to explore and was released at the start of every season.

Weezer broke new ground in the alternative rock world with their 1994 debut album Weezer (the Blue Album), but their follow-up album, Pinkerton, has remained the biggest fan favourite over the decades. The band have won a Grammy Award and multiple Video Music Awards and sold over 17 million albums worldwide.
In 2020, Weezer would have joined Fall Out Boy and Green Day for the epic Hella Mega Tour of Australia. Of course, the tour didn’t eventuate due to Covid-19, resulting in Weezer and Fall Out Boy appearing on Family Feud instead, breaking hearts across the country. These arena shows should at least make up for a bit of that grief.
Friday 6 October – John Cain Arena, Melbourne, VIC
Sunday 8 October – Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane, QLD
Saturday 7 October – Accor Stadium, Sydney, NSW
