The Kid LAROI was one of the performers at this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards – hosted by Nickelodeon – recalling the excitement of his ten-year-old self after the experience of getting covered in slime.
During his performance, the Aussie star went through a medley of Nights Like These (from his album THE FIRST TIME), his latest single, Girls, and the world-dominating track starring Justin Bieber, Stay.
He clearly won over the audience with his blend of singing, dancing, song choices, and crowd interaction, but no matter how much his fans love him, the true purpose of the Kids’ Choice Awards is seeing your favourite stars covered in slime.
Slime was everywhere at this year’s awards, which took place on Saturday (13 July), with Jack Black, country music star Jelly Roll, and others getting doused in the green sticky stuff. In response to getting (almost) drowned in slime, The Kid LAROI wrote on Instagram: “10 year old me is freaking out 🤯 thanks @nickelodeon”.

The Kid LAROI will tour Australia this October after postponing his tour in February, citing “impossible” logistical situations.

The tour arrives in support of the release of his debut album, THE FIRST TIME. In a glowing review for The Music, Claire Dunton wrote that LAROI “feels and sounds like a real, honest talent that you can’t help but back as an Australian” and “has perfectly executed the ever-popular ‘90s aesthetic”.
In March, The Music reported that The Kid LAROI dominated last year’s Spotify Aussie Music Global Impact List, with five of his songs making the list.
The songs were: I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro) at #3, I GUESS IT’S LOVE at #5, his collab with Lil Tjay, 2 Grown at #9, Forever & Again at #15, and BLEED at #21.
