Watch The First Trailer For Vince Staples’ Own Netflix Sitcom

Netflix has released the official trailer for The Vince Staples Show, a new sitcom helmed by – and loosely based on the life of – the titular West Coast rapper.

All five episodes of the miniseries, itself based on a short-form webseries that Staples released in 2019, will premiere on Thursday February 15. The show’s cast is headlined by Staples, portraying a fictionalised version of himself, alongside the likes of Andrea Ellsworth, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Naté Jones, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, Myles Bullock and Rick Ross.

The show will follow Staples as he’s “Who’s Vince Staples? Well, that’s a tricky question. He’s kind of famous, but he’s not. He’s kind of rich, but he’s not. He’s also kind of a criminal. But he’s... not? Follow him on his daily adventures, where anything that can go wrong usually does.”

The Vince Staples Show joins the rapper’s growing slate of TV roles. He voiced the lead role in the cartoon Lazor Wulf between 2019 and 2021, then starred as Maurice in Abbott Elementary between 2022 and 2023. He also starred in last year’s White Men Can’t Jump remake, and cameoed as himself in the 2020 series Insecure.

Meanwhile, Staples’ latest musical offering is his 2022 album Ramona Park Broke My Heart, which landed just nine months after his self-titled fourth album.
