The in-demand duo stopped by to perform live songs both front-of-house and backstage.
Riding the wave of momentum off the back of their recently released collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice, celebrated Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett and her current partner-in-creativity Kurt Vile swung by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week to perform two tracks from the new full-length.
The pair, who are currently in the midst of a tour in support of the album, stripped things back for a backstage acoustic performance of the pretty dang adorable Continental Breakfast as well as donning their flannies and going electric with some backing instrumentalist pals to deliver the twangy, jammy rock of Over Everything.
Barnett and Vile unquestionably make a good team, possessed of a seemingly effortless chemistry and complementary talents that have seen the album earn an eager reception in Australia and around the globe.
The Music's Ross Clelland gave it four stars on review, summarising it as "a record just full of ragged charms", and its acclaim has been mirrored on local and international charts, where it made its debut at #5 in Australia and #11 in the UK, as well as charting in the top five on both the US Billboard Tastemaker and Independent albums charts.
