The Adelaide-based music festival Vintage Vibes, due to take place on 27 and 28 January, has been postponed. The rescheduled dates haven’t yet been revealed.
Punters were informed yesterday that the festival was postponed, with users on the Adelaide corner of Reddit writing that they received an email from Oztix detailing the news. The Oztix ticket page also states that the festival has been postponed.
Last night, Vintage Vibes organisers took to Facebook to explain why the festival has been postponed, citing “current economic pressures” in a statement.
“Vintage Vibes Festival, which was scheduled to take place at Tomich Wines, Adelaide Hills on January 27 & 28 today announced that its January event has been postponed,” the statement reads.
“This decision has not been made lightly; however, current economic pressures have created a landscape within which the festival cannot proceed this month.”
The statement continued to refer to “increased pressure on supply chains” – particularly for venues outside the CBD – and “shifts in economic climates” that “reflect the broader challenges many are facing within the industry”. With the pressures, “It has become clear that moving forward with the event in two weeks would not meet the high standards of experiences we promise our attendees, artists, and partners.”

Organisers added, “Our mission is to create a world-class event in South Australia that celebrates the best in international and Australian music, and we will not settle for anything less, hence we have made the hard decision to push the event back.”
While organisers understand that punters are disappointed, refunds will be made available via Oztix for people who can’t attend the postponed event, which will be announced later this year.
The statement concluded, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Vintage Vibes Festival – from our patrons and artists to our dedicated staff and the local community and we are already planning and excited for what will come.”

This year’s Vintage Vibes festival is due to star international headliners Rudimental and Groove Armada. While the initial festival announcement was made in November, a month later, organisers made the surprise announcement of adding Ball Park Music to the line-up and slashing ticket prices from $178 to $99.
Festival Director Blake Gilchrist said about the “Ball Park Blitz” ticket price change at the time: “Adding to the excitement today is the announcement that we are dropping our ticket prices for a week, just in time for Christmas! Tickets will drop from $178 down to $99 and we hope it enables more people to be able to enjoy the festival next year.
“We totally understand how hard it is out there, petrol prices, groceries, mortgages, all the prices are up, plus it’s Christmas time, so we know dollars are tight… So, we want to make Vintage Vibes accessible to everyone and if that means offering a small release run of reduced price tickets, then so be it!”
As well as its international headliners and Ball Park Music, Vintage Vibes 2024 will host The Teskey Brothers, Milky Chance, DMA’S, Lord Huron, Meg Mac, Cub Sport, Winston Surfshirt, and many more.
Vintage Vibes was added to Adelaide’s festival scene last year. The debut edition brought the likes of Gang Of Youths, Tash Sultana, Angus & Julia Stone, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Temper Trap, Hermitude and many more to Tomich Wines for one massive weekend.
