On Sunday (13 October), the Victorian state Labor government shared a press release regarding the upcoming Oasis Live ‘25 tour with the headline Oasis Ticket Scalping A Champagne Superno-No In Victoria.
The Melbourne dates of the Oasis Live ’25 tour have been touted as major events, and the tickets to the events will be protected under Victoria’s “tough anti-scalping laws.”
As the press release states, tickets to any event declared a major event cannot be advertised or resold for more than 10 per cent above their original value.
In addition to tickets not being sold for 10% above their original value, ticket package sellers must be authorised by the event organiser, and individual ticket sellers must include ticket and seating details. If ticket package and individual sellers don’t meet those requirements, they’ll be met with hefty fines.
The Oasis dates – Friday, 31 October, and Saturday, 1 November 2025—taking place at Marvel Stadium join this year’s Meredith Music Festival, the Australia v India Boxing Day Test, and the 2025 Australian Formula One Grand Prix as major events.
Pre-sale tickets via the band’s ballot system go on sale in Melbourne today at 12 pm AEDT, with a general sale following tomorrow at 10 am AEDT.

In a statement, Victoria’s Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, said of the state’s anti-scalping measures ahead of the shows: “The Oasis reunion tour will be one of the biggest concerts to come to our shores in 2025 – and we’ve declared their Melbourne concerts as major events to make sure fans can see the Gallagher brothers live at a fair price.
“Melbourne is Australia’s live music capital, and we have a very clear stance on ticket scalping – do not resell tickets to concerts at inflated prices because you will be fined.’’
The Chairman of Live Nation Australasia, Michael Coppel, added: “Oasis Live 25 has been one of the most highly anticipated tours this decade. Fans have an insatiable appetite to see the UK legends live, and by declaring this event, Live Nation are committed to making sure fans aren’t preyed on by scalpers.”
On Friday morning (11 October), extra dates were added to the Oasis Live ’25 Australian tour to meet demand. You can find out how to score tickets to the tour dates here.
