'Very Emotional' Stevie Nicks Wishes Christine McVie Could've Watched 'Daisy Jones & The Six'

Stevie Nicks has finally watched Daisy Jones & The Six, recalling feeling “very emotional” watching the series and detailed the wish that her Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie was still here to watch with her.

Daisy Jones & The Six, which premiered in March 2023 and was based on the 2019 novel of the same name, followed the rise and fall of a 70s rock band that’s said to be modelled on Fleetwood Mac. You can watch the trailer for the series below.

“Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn't really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story,” Nicks wrote on social media yesterday (16 August). “It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me.”

Thinking of McVie, Nicks told her followers that she wished her longtime bandmate was still alive to watch the series. Christine McVie passed away in November 2022.

Nicks continued to write, “I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it. Hopefully, it will continue…”

Last month, The Sun reported that McVie left a staggering $135 million fortune when she passed away on 30 November 2022, at 79, following a “short illness”.

Upon hearing about McVie’s passing, Stevie Nicks wrote a handwritten note in a touching tribute to her bandmate. “A few hours ago, I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975 had passed away.”

She added, "I didn’t even know she was ill… until late Saturday night. I wanted to be in London; I wanted to get to London — but we were told to wait. So, since Saturday, one song has been swirling around in my head, over and over and over. I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and so I’m singing it to her now. I always knew I would need these words one day."

Nicks went on to write the lyrics to Hallelujah by HAIM. She concluded the note by writing, "See you on the other side, my love. Don’t forget me — Always, Stevie."

Christine McVie was known for penning and singing on numerous Fleetwood Mac hits, including Everywhere, Songbird, You Make Loving Fun and Little Lies.

She joined the band in 1970 and remained in the group when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1998, but departed soon after. She returned to Fleetwood Mac in 2014 with the band's most recognisable lineup reunited.
