Featuring the emo, alternative, hardcore, punk sounds of the late '90s and 2000s? Sign us up
It's time once more for boutique Sydney festival UnFun to announce their annual day for punters to time travel — back to the uncomplicated, rowdy era of '90s and early 2000s punk, melodic hardcore, emo, acoustic and alternative and the all-round beauty of 32-bit video-gaming on a Nintendo 64.
Now in its third year, UnFun will have seminal '80s punk rockers Hard-Ons leading the charge, a fitting reminder of a band that toured relentlessly and worked hard through the glory days of the '80s and '90s to make punk rock what it is now in Australia.
Also joining the bill are Adelaide rockers Grenadiers, melodic hardcore five-piece Perspectives, Columbus, Vices, Hightime, Apart From This, Staunch, Our Past Days, Bare Bones, Coffin, Amends, Rumours, Rooftops and Lapse.
Between drowning in nostalgic vibes, UnFun will also house a Mario Kart Arena — whaaaat — to showcase the skills you first harnessed every day after school, as well as stalls from Resist Records, Animal Liberation, Greyhound Rescue, Bake Flag and a slew of food trucks.
