Two Triple M Oztober Garage Sessions Heading To Brisbane

Brisbane-based rock and roll fans, get excited: two Triple M Oztober Garage Sessions are heading to you in the coming days (and weeks).

Diesel, The Living End, Pete Murray, Triple M commentator, and singer Dave Gleeson will hit the stage with The Screaming Jets in two Brisbane venues.

The fun begins this coming Sunday, 8 October, at the new music venue Stranded Bar. The Screaming Jets will provide a rip-roaring set in an intimate space before the second Garage Session takes place at the Princess Theatre on Wednesday, 1 November.

At the second Triple M Oztober Garage Session, it’s The Living End, Diesel and Pete Murray’s turn to put on a show. To score tickets, tune into Triple M’s Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan from 5:30 until 9 am weekdays.

In late September, The Screaming Jets revealed that the group’s dearly departed bassist and songwriter Paul Woseen signed pre-order copies of their new album, Professional Misconduct, before his passing.

Every member of the band signed postcards for the CD and vinyl copies of the album ordered from the group’s website. Physical editions of the album will also arrive with a photographic insert honouring Woseen.

In great timing for their Oztober Garage Session, Professional Misconduct will be released via Rocket Records this Friday, 6 October. You can pre-order your copy here.

Diesel is also dropping a new album soon, with his upcoming record Bootleg Melancholy landing on Friday, 13 October.

On his intentions behind the reflective album, Diesel explained in a statement, “The world can be hard, and that takes us over in our heads, but love and joy are always right there in front of us if we remember to look for them too.”

He continued, “If I’m going to write about my anxieties and fears, I’ll mix it with other parts of me – humour, memories, just small moments – because it’s more welcoming to hear but also a truer picture of who I am. When I get scared, I’m laughing at myself for being scared, you know?”

Meanwhile, a few days after their Garage Session, The Living End will celebrate 25 years of their eponymously titled debut album at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Saturday, 4 November. The deluxe reissue of the album lands on Friday, 13 October.
