Trivium's Matt Heafy To Collaborate With Machine Gun Kelly's Guitarist Sophie Lloyd

Trivium guitarist and vocalist Matt Heafy has revealed the next person he wants to collaborate with: Sophie Lloyd, Machine Gun Kelly's touring guitar player.

The collaboration will be revealed this Friday, on Lloyd's track Fall Of Man.

Teasing their work on Instagram, Heafy said, "Sophie Lloyd is an immensely talented force of a musician and songwriter. I recall first seeing Sophie’s guitar playing online and being truly blown away – so having been a fan of Sophie’s for several years, I was honored [sic] when asked to guest on an upcoming track.

"When I learned too that Trivium had been a longtime favorite [sic] band of Sophie’s – I was humbled and appreciative. With Sophie now fronting both the solo project and being lead guitarist for MGK – there’s no question Sophie Lloyd is taking over. I can’t wait for the world to hear this single."

Lloyd will release the music video next Friday, 3 March. 

Last year, Heafy started the black metal-inspired project, Ibaraki, and released the album Rashomon in May. Featuring My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, Ihsahn from the band Emperor, and Behemoth's Nergal, the record explores Heafy's Japanese heritage.

Trivium will perform at the inaugural Knotfest Australia next month. Between the festival, though, are their sideshows.

Viking metal outfit Amon Amarth and Trivium will put on co-headline shows of epic proportions in Melbourne and Brisbane. UK metallers Malevolence are on the bill as special guests, and after drawing the "biggest circle pit" audiences have ever seen, they're an opening act not to be missed. The Melbourne gig takes place a day before the festival (23 March) and the Brisbane date on 28 March.
