Too Much Pyro Sets Off The Sprinkler System At Recent Disturbed Gig

Disturbed really brought the heat for Inside The Fire last week (27 July), leading to the sprinkler system going off at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion outside Houston, Texas, after their pyro likely got too much for the venue to handle.
As you can see in the video footage below, the band were drenched in water after the sprinklers began.
Taking to Instagram, guitarist Dan Donegan revealed that some gear, including his in-ears and “possibly other gear”, was damaged by the water. Read his emoji-filled statement below:
Houston, we have a problem! Take a close look 👀. This was another first in our career! Literally burning the house down. During our encore we fired off so much pyro 🔥 that it set off the sprinkler system and rained down 💦💦 buckets 🪣 on top of us for the entire end of the show. This goes down as one of the most memorable shows for sure. Plus destroyed my in ears and 🎤 and possibly other gear 🤦🏻♂️. What a night!
The fire and water-filled incident followed a separate heat-filled event for Disturbed, which saw the band cancel their 23 July gig in Phoenix, Arizona, at the last minute due to temperatures reaching upwards of 46°C/116°F, Louder Sound reports.
The excessive temperatures damaged the group’s equipment, with the band writing on social media just before 7 pm that night, “Tonight’s Disturbed show will be postponed. Due to the excessive heat, the band's equipment is not working properly. Please hold on to your tickets, and stay tuned for a rescheduled date.”

When asked why they didn’t postpone the show earlier, vocalist David Draiman assured fans that the group was “devastated” after “trying to make everything work. None of our equipment would power up.”
In late May, Draiman revealed that he was awaiting biopsy results for a tumour removed from the radius in his right arm.
“It had been keeping me up nights. Should have biopsy results tomorrow. Thoughts, prayers, positive energy all welcome,” he wrote. Whether you were thinking or praying for Draiman, he’s received good news: the tumour was benign!
Disturbed released their eighth album, Divisive, in November. The album includes an AI-generated music video for the single Bad Man. The album landed at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart upon release.
