The truly strange, equally inimitable David Liebe Hart will perform five shows Down Under next year
Unlikely cult comedy figure David Liebe Hart — he of Cartoon Network and Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! fame — has announced a handful of show dates on Australian shores early next year to support the release of his most recent album, Astronaut.
Kicking off at The Brightside, in Brisbane, on Thursday, March 19, Hart will take his distinct brand of puppetry-cum-anti-comedy to Hermann's Bar, in Sydney, on Saturday, March 21, Melbourne's Evelyn Hotel on Sunday, March 22, and Mojo's, in Fremantle, on Friday, March 27, before wrapping up with his final Aussie appearance at Adelaide's Crown & Anchor Hotel on Wednesday, March 25.
As part of his return trip Down Under, Hart will be joined by backing electronic muso Jonah Mociun to deliver a memorable spread of multi-platform material, from songs and comedy to video, ventriloquism and beyond. He'll be busting out renditions of tracks found on Astronaut as well as his previous albums, so expect to see some familiar favourites pop up, including Father & Son and Puberty. If you've not yet been exposed to Hart's brand of showmanship, check out new single La Rent Doesn't Want Me To Look At Porn, created with Mociun, below.
