Thornhill ‘Devastated’ As $100,000 Worth Of Gear Stolen

Aussie rockers Thornhill have suffered a “devastating blow” after thieves broke into their rehearsal space, stealing nearly $100,000 worth of belongings from the band.

The group revealed this afternoon via Facebook that they have “barely anything left”, after “drums, cymbals, guitar equipment, IEM racks, merch, cases, banners and personals” were stolen from the premises sometime over the past few days.

Added to that, there is no video evidence of the incident, with a major fire at the site cutting the power.

“This is a devastating blow to the band after the last year we have had trying to get back on track mentally, gearing up for a big year of touring,” Thornhill, who are booked to support Architects across the country next month, said.

“We have insurance however with CCTV footage and only a police report to go by we can only assume that we won’t recover any of our costs back.

“We are working closely with our agents in regards with our upcoming New Zealand and Australian tours to see if we can make things work, and, we are trying our best to put these shows on for you.”

The band have set up a GoFundMe to help replace their gear, noting: “If you can spare anything it would mean the world to us as we are trying to find a way to get back on our feet and keep this band alive. Please donate if you can and share around, love as always.”

Thornhill had an absolutely massive 2022 off the back of their ARIA-nominated album Heroine, which Kill Your Stereo described as “a masterful and bold move”.

They smashed it on Like A Version last April, performing MUSE’s Supermassive Black Hole and their hit Casanova, and also dominated at Good Things Festival last month.
