This Week’s Best New Music: Lynks, Ninajirachi, Fred again.. & More

It’s been a HUGE week for new indie, hip-hop and EDM releases – not only did we get fresh new tunes from some of Australia’s finest up-and-comers, like Ninajirachi (who just dropped Hand on my heart), the perfect pairing of BARAKA THE KID and Joelistics (who blessed us with All My Life) and 1tbsp (whose new cut Starchitect is destined to be a hit), but the international heavyweights were out in full force: Lynks came in hot with his wicked new banger ABOMINATION, for example, while Låpsley delivered another instant classic in Angeles, and Fred again.. got his fans going absolutely mental with his BERWYN and Gesaffelstein collab BerwynGesaffNeighbours.

With all of that in mind, now seems like as good a time as any to remind you – or clue you in, if you didn’t know already – that we have our very own playlist dedicated to bringing you the best new music from the underground and beyond, fittingly named Purple Sneakers’ Best New Music. WHAT SHE SAYS: “I made this song after my first show in (and visit to) New York in mid 2023. That city was truly everything I’d been promised and I left feeling incredibly inspired. I’ve played this song in almost every set since then. It’s a good picture of what I’m listening to right now. I’m always trying to make my own favourite songs.”
