'There Are A Lot Of Things Brewing' In The Ghost Camp; Tobias Forge Teases Australian Tour

Swedish outfit Ghost have become one of the most popular hard rock bands in the world after 12 years of grinding - five albums, a handful of EPs, and singles have led to the band dominating charts and selling out tours.

Now, the band's enigmatic frontman Tobias Forge has revealed that fans can expect "good change" from the band before massive touring plans in a new Metal Hammer interview.

"We’re doing a lot of touring again. On previous album cycles, we’ve done four legs in America and two or three in Europe and repeated," he said, offering a sneak peek of what's next for the band in 2023, "We’re going to go into every territory next year, but there’s going to be one European tour, one American tour."

Teasing a stop in Australia, the Mary On A Cross singer continued, "We are going to do a little bit of everywhere. There’ll be a little bit of something up in upper Asia, on the far end there – a very well-established country with a lot of pop cultural fascination, and the home of videogames. And there’s going to be something in the Oceania world, and there might be something south of Panama, and there might be something slightly north of Panama. It feels pretty solid."

Forever mysterious, Forge told Metal Hammer, "We’re going to come out with a little bit of change before that – good change. We’re not going to go silent. Some things are public, other things not in public view, but there are a lot of things brewing." 

"I can truthfully say that Ghost will not stop operating how it already does; for the past four or five years, we’ve been operating publicly," one of Ghost's Nameless Ghouls told Kill Your Stereo in 2015. 

"We’ve discussed between each other that the day will eventually come when people know who we are; however, in saying that, looking at us on Wikipedia, clicking a link of our real names and seeing who we are will not change the way in which we operate, there will be someday when we may be involved in other projects and people will know us from both but, for lack of a better phrase, it will always remain somewhat of a ‘Slipknot style operation’ in that people may know who we are, but that will not change the imagery of Ghost."
